The Belvedere Bond ad campaign will launch in February

Belvedere will be the latest vodka to be linked with James Bond after brand owner Moët Hennessy signed a tie-up with the makers of 'Spectre', the next film in the franchise.

The wine and spirits unit of LVMH has partnered with Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment to promote the 24th Bond film, due for launch on 6 November next year. The deal, announced today, will see Moet Hennessy launch a global ad campaign in February around the tie-up and a raft of promotions and activities for the film, featuring its Polish vodka.

The campaign will feature the hashtag #shakennotstirred.

The company will also release two limited-edition bottles of Belvedere to mark the partnership. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

However, Belvedere's president, Charles Gibb, branded the deal "our largest global partnership to date".

It remains unclear whether Belvedere will feature in the film itself. A spokesperson for the brand told just-drinks: “As the film is still being filmed this will be down to Sam Mendes (the director) and team, so nothing is confirmed for on-screen at the moment.”

The character of Bond has famously ordered his preferred drink of vodka martini, “shaken not stirred”, in previous films.

Other vodka brands to have been associated with Bond films include Brown-Forman's Finlandia, in Die Another Day, and Diageo's Smirnoff, for Casino Royale

Heineken struck a high-profile deal over the last Bond film, Skyfall, which saw actor Daniel Craig drinking the Dutch brewer's namesake lager in the film. The brewer will also be involved with Spectre, but details are yet to be confirmed.

A company spokesperson said: "You can expect to see Heineken be part of Spectre. Details will be revealed later, as the final contract has not yet been signed.”
