Miguel Torres will switch importers in the US in May

Miguel Torres has switched importers in the US.

The Spanish wine producer confirmed yesterday (19 March) that it will partner with Seattle-based Ste Michelle Wine Estates going forward. Ste Michelle replaces Dreyfus Ashby, with whom Miguel Torres reached “mutual agreement”.

“We are excited about the opportunity to market Spanish wines, particularly the wines of Torres, in our home market,” said Ted Baseler, President & CEO for Ste Michelle.

Miguel Torres added: “I would like to thank Dreyfus for their efforts, professionalism and our long relationship in the US.”

The arrangement comes into effect in May.

Miguel Torres owns properties in the Spanish regions of Penedès, Priorat, Conca de Barberà, Ribera del Duero and Rioja. The family-owned company also owns vineyards in Chile and California.

In 2012, Ste Michelle acquired the Washington-based O Wines brand.
