The McDonald's Corporation has introduced organic fair-trade coffee from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. in more than 650 north-eastern US outlets to try to boost breakfast sales. The new coffee, Newman's Own Organics Blend, is available in locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Albany, New York.

Green Mountain Coffee based in Vermont, will source, roast and package the blend, made from Fair Trade Certified and organic specialty coffees, exclusively for McDonald's.

Fair Trade Certified coffee is grown on smaller farms worldwide that receive a premium for their beans grown using sustainable methods, such as organic farming, that protect the environment, generating revenues enabling grower families to benefit from improved education, health care and housing.
