Maxxium UK has added to its Highland Park range, launching a 30 year old single malt for the first time.

The new single malt is the oldest within the Highland Park portfolio and is one of only a few bottlings to be released on a permanent basis.

Highland Park brand ambassador Gerry Tosh said: "We are thrilled to be introducing Highland Park 30 year old single malt.  This particular malt proves that 30 years of maturation results in an entirely new expression of Highland Park that is unique in flavour while maintaining the distinctive Orcadian characteristics of smokiness, peat and sweetness."

Rich, coppery and amber in appearance, the 30 year old single malt (48.1%) has a spicy and aromatic nose.  Created from a mixture of 75% Sherry casks and 25% Bourbon barrels, the flavour has elements of toffee and dark chocolate orange as well as peaty tones from Orkney's Hobbister Hill.  The finish is long, smokey and surprisingly sweet.
