Martell & Co has inaugurated a new bottling plant at Ligneres, in the heart of the Cognac region, marking the completion of a restructuring programme which followed its acquisition by Pernod Ricard in 2001 from Seagram.

The new plant, located on the same site as Pernod Ricard's Bisquit and Renault chais, has a production capacity of 10,000 cases per day and offers a range of 80 different bottles.

From now on, all of the French group's Cognacs are bottled at the Ligneres plant at the heart of a 200-hectare vineyard.

The restructuring of Martell has also brought around 100 job cuts and the closure of its plant in the city of Cognac.
