Marie Brizard has posted a slight rise in turnover for its financial year 2004. Net profit offered a slightly more impressive rise for the French wine and spirits group, it said yesterday (12 May).

Turnover for the 12-month period increased by 3.1% year-on-year to 337m. Net profit, boosted by a reduction in financial costs and capital gains from its sale of Sorevi, leapt by 41% against the corresponding period last year. Operating profit registers a slight fall, however.

The group said that its Chais Beaucairois wine range performed particularly well, with sales rising by 13.9% despite a generally stagnant market.
