Mangrove Global has launched a five-strong range of Jamaican rums in the UK that has been inspired by the country's music scene. JAH45 takes its name from a slang term for Jamaica and the RPM of the vinyl records played on sound systems in the country in the 1950s and 60s.

The portfolio comprises:

  • JAH45 Dark and JAH45 18ct Gold - GBP19.99 (US$26.85) per 70cl - both are blends of three-year-old pot still rum with unaged column still rums
  • JAH45 Silver - GBP19.99 per 70cl - an unaged pot and column still white rum.
  • JAH45 Spiced - GBP21.99 per 70cl - a three-year-old rum macerated for 48 hours with vanilla, cinnamon, citrus and a dash of Pimento
  • JAH Overproof - GBP26.99 per 70cl - a blend of unaged pot and column still white rum cut at 63% bottling strength
  • The brand has been created by Carl Stephenson, a former employee at Campari Group's J Wray & Nephew rum unit in Jamaica.

"JAH45 are rums that go back to their Jamaican roots and offer an exciting addition to standard rum selections," said Mangrove MD Nick Gillett. "With the global distribution rights, we look forward to working with JAH45 to launch and continue to grow into the UK and other markets."
