Sortilege will now be available nation-wide

Canadian wines and spirits maker Maison des Futailles is to expand its maple-syrup flavoured whiskey Sortilege in the US after signing a new distribution deal.

The agreement, effective immediately, sees Sidney Frank Importing Company take on exclusive importation rights, the companies announced yesterday (22 January). Sortilege is a blend of Canadian rye whisky and maple syrup.

“There is an increasing demand for maple-flavoured spirits from US consumers," said Bill Henderson, executive VP of marketing at Sidney Frank. "Sortilege has seen early success largely due to the brand's use of pure maple syrup while many others are using artificial flavouring.”

A Sidney Frank spokesperson told just-drinks Sortilege was previously available in "select states", but under the new deal will be on shelves nation-wide in the US.

The 30% abv Sortilege is available in a 37.5cl bottle with an SRP of US$19.99.
