Mahou-San Miguel is to invest €39.5m (US$52.5m) in increasing capacity and upgrading its plant in Alovera, southern Spain.

The Spanish brewer hopes to increase capacity at the plant by 18% and is targeting €20m of the overall investment into the enlargement.

The rest of the money will be spent on improving the environmental installations and the workplace safety.

Mahou-San Miguel has five factories in Spain.
