LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's leading luxury products group,has  reported consolidated sales of €6,173m in the first half of 2005, reflecting an increase in organic sales of 12% compared to the first half of 2004.

This sales growth accelerated in the second quarter of 2005, coming on top of a strong 19% increase in the second quarter of 2004, the company added.

Reported first half growth was 10%.

The company's wine and spirits business registered sales of €1,030m, a reported rise of 15% and organic growth of 12% on the same period last year.

The group's Champagne brands, particularly Dom Perignon, Krug and Veuve Clicquot, showed strong growth across all geographic areas. Moet & Chandon achieved good levels of growth in Japan and Europe. Hennessy Cognac strengthened its momentum with solid growth, particularly in the US and Asia.
