Georgian wine brand Lost Eden has rolled out to the US market, as the founders look to introduce the country's winemaking heritage to consumers in the country.

Lost Eden, which is a red blend produced in Kakhetian from the country's native Saperavi grapes grown across the region, was created in partnership with the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture & Partnership Fund. The brand was founded by 11th-generation winemaker Lado Uzunashvili along with Levan Gachechiladze, who previously established a Georgian wine joint venture with Pernod Ricard, and Georgian entrepreneur Tariel Chichua.

"Over the past 200 years, Russia has occupied, economically suppressed and annexed territories of our country," said co-partner Gachechiladze. "Georgia is the birthplace of wine. The Georgian people were the first people on earth to conquer the grape. And yet, because Russia continues to have huge economic influence over our wine industry, few in the US know the history or the quality of our winemaking. Lost Eden is designed to change that for good."

The US roll-out is initially limited to 4,500 cases.
