Copperhead Gin The Gibson Edition will be available globally

Copperhead Gin The Gibson Edition will be available globally

A London bartender has become the latest on-premise professional to launch a spirits brand in partnership with a distillery.

Marian Beke, who owns the The Gibson Bar, has teamed up with Belgium distiller Copperhead to launch Copperhead Gin The Gibson Edition. The move comes in the same week New York bar operators Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry launched a namesake Irish whiskey for their bar, The Dead Rabbit.

Copperhead Gin The Gibson Edition is described as a savoury gin, designed for Gibson Martinis and their pickled onion garnish. The 40% abv product will retail for around GBP35-40 (US$49-56) per 50cl bottle.

The gin uses five original Copperhead botanicals of juniper, coriander seed, cardamom, angelica, and orange peel as well as 14 pickling spices. These include mace, pepper, cassia, bay leaf, ginger, allspice, fennel and dill seeds. It is finished with eight year old genever.

The dark green packaging is inspired by the green tiling of The Gibson Bar's facade.

The gin will roll out globally, with production "on-going".
