The beer and wine group, Lion Nathan, has said that it would be interested in making a further wine acquisition in New Zealand, following its NZ$52m acquisition this year of the Wither Hills brand. But the company said that price would be the critical factor in any decision.

Gordon Cairns, CEO of the Australian-based combine, said that the asking price for wineries would come down during the next couple of years and that Lion would consider "picking up a bargain".
