The Famous Grouse has announced the launch of a whisky married exclusively in Scottish oak casks.

The Famous Grouse Scottish Oak Finish sees the brand link up with environmental charity The Tree Council in a project to support the planting of native woodland, including oak trees, in Scotland.

The limited edition bottling has been married for three years in locally grown oak, rather than imported Spanish or US casks, brand-owners the Edrington Group said today (30 November).

The 7,029 limited edition bottles will be available exclusively at The Famous Grouse Experience and for each bottle purchased the company will make a donation to the Tree Council.

The Famous Grouse Scottish Oak Finish is available exclusively from The Famous Grouse Experience or on-line at in a 50cl bottle at 44.5% abv, retailing at GBP30 (US$51.75).
