French Champagne house Laurent-Perrier has posted a healthy rise in first-quarter sales due to a boost in sales of its premium brands.

Laurent-Perrier today (26 July) reported a 10.5% leap in sales to EUR5.3m (US$7.27m) for the period, thanks to a surge in sales of its Laurent-Perrier brand, especially outside of France.

"The first quarter reflects the company's strategy that sees the effect of changes in the product mix becoming the main driver behind growth," Laurent-Perrier said.

The group plans to post its sales turnover semi-annual and results in November.
