Lanson is looking ahead to its Q4 results

Lanson BCC Group has described its final quarter of the year as “decisive” after a weak third-quarter pushed down year-to-date sales.

The Champagne producer said last week that group sales fell by 2% to EUR144.6m (US$180m) in the first nine months of this year. Q3 sales dropped by 8.2% to EUR52.1m, outpacing a buyout Q2 when sales were up 7.7%.

However, Lanson said about 45% of its sales are made in the fourth quarter, “which means that levels of consumption at the end of the year will be decisive”.

The group, which is due to post full-year results on 5 February, declined to offer a full-year forecast for 2014.

Lanson sponsors the Wimbledon tennis championships and in July launched tennis ball-themed jackets for its namesake Champagne.
