Kweichow Moutai has recruited Camus Wines & Spirits to handle distribution of its Chateau Loudenne wine range in a number of markets worldwide and in Travel Retail.

The Chinese company, which originally operated in the baijiu category, has expanded into the wine sector in recent years. It acquired Chateau Loudenne, which is located on the banks of the Gironde river, 70km north-west of Bordeaux, in 2013, reportedly for around EUR20m (US$22.7m).

Moutai and Camus announced that the French company will distribute Chateau Loudenne, Rives de Loudenne and Chateau Loudenne-Bordeaux globally, with the exception of Japan, Dubai, Singapore the US, the UK & China.

The two firms have worked together on distribution of other brands for the last ten years.

“It is an honour to represent one of the most renowned fine wine brands worldwide and it is a major step in our partnership with Moutai” said Camus' global commercial director, Anne Blois.
