Japanese brewer, Kirin Brewery Co., has raised its profit outlook for the first half to the end of June. The company now expects to post a group net profit of Y10 billion on an operating profit of Y33 billion, up from its earlier forecast of Y5.5 billion group net profit on an operating profit of Y26 billion.

The reason Kirin has cited for the raised forecast is a delay in booking research and development expenses to the second half of the year or later which has offset the negative effects of soft sales.
