Japan's second-largest beer maker Kirin is in tie-up talks with several Chinese brewers, according to Chinese brewer Zhuhai Kirin President.

Kirin is looking to link up with other brewers in the China, possibly through equity stakes, the official told AFX News.

"We will release all relevant information on this matter at a press conference to be held in Zhuhai on Wednesday," the official added.

Kirin has been keen to boost revenues in overseas markets as the Japanese beer industry continues to stagnate.
