Jim Beam has launched a limited edition Bourbon depicting the seven Beam family generations who have overseen the brand.

Named The Distillers Series, Jim Beam released the limited edition Bourbon last month. It is aged seven years and to 90 proof.

Featured on the bottle are the seven master distillers from the Beam family, beginning with Jacob Beam, who founded the family distillery in 1795.

"Having your face on the Jim Beam label is a big honour and a big responsibility too," said Fred Noe, the current master distiller from the Beam family.

He told just-drinks that 27,000 bottles of the Bourbon would be on sale in the UK. He said that Jim Beam had "some catching up to do" in the UK, compared to rivals such as Jack Daniel and Southern Comfort. But, he added: "Over here there is a lot of opportunity. It's all about educating people."

The Distillers Series is available in 750ml bottles at a suggested retail price of $20.99. It will be on sale until the end of January 2009.
