Jamba Juice Co has promoted Susan Shields to the position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Jamba said today (10 November) that Shields, who is currently vice president of consumer products, licensing, and growth initiatives, will head up marketing for the group with immediate effect.

She replaces Paul Coletta, who the firm announced in December 2008 would step down to pursue other interests. At the time, Jamba said Coletta's responsibilities would be "assumed by existing management and team members".

"Susan's promotion is a reflection of her extensive experience in leading brand marketing and product innovation teams and her success in driving our licensing growth platform since her arrival to Jamba in January," said Jamba CEO and president James White.

Shields, who will report to White, has previously held senior roles in innovation and marketing at several food, drink and retail companies, including Del Monte Foods, Quaker Oats and Safeway.

In August, Jamba Inc, owner of Jamba Juice stores, reported lower net sales for the first half of 2009 but a significant drop in net losses.
