Champagne Jacquart has reported a 5% increase in its full year turnover to €79m, despite a fall in volume sales to 7.6m bottles in 2004 from 7.8m the year before.

The Champagne company said the strong result was the consequence of an 8.2% rise in prices.

Half of the bottles sold by the group are exported or sold in French overseas territories and departments.

Around 40% of group's products are marketed under the Jacquart label.
