The Lion Nathan subsidiary Lion Breweries and Interbrew have re-signed a 10-year contract which gives Lion Breweries the right to brew, distribute and market Stella Artois in New Zealand.

Stella Artois has tripled in growth over the past three years in New Zealand and Julian Davidson, managing director of Lion Breweries said: "The contract is indicative of the productive relationship between Lion Breweries and Interbrew. The 10-year duration signals the level of commitment from Interbrew to continue working with us."

"We are very pleased with the support our premium brand, Stella Artois, has received in New Zealand." says Dieter Ammer, Interbrew regional president Germany, Southern Europe and Export. "In New Zealand Stella Artois has gained momentum both in on-premise and off-premise distribution. We feel confident this will continue with the support of our long term partnership with Lion Breweries."
