The Belgian multinational brewing combine, Interbrew, is according to reports in the German press, interested in acquiring the Cologne-based brewer, Dom, which produces the well known regional specialty brand, Koelsch.

Reports suggested that the Dom chairman, Jochen Koehler, had confirmed acquisition negotiations were progressing. Interbrew is known to be eyeing further acquisitions in Germany following its acquisitions of Beck's and Diebels.
