The former deputy chairman of Canadian brewer Molson, Ian Molson, has officially indicated he may bid for the company.

The Canadian brewer is currently in the process of trying to merge with the US brewer Adolph Coors - a merger Ian Molson objects to.

In a regulatory filing last week, Ian Molson said: "Given recent developments regarding Molson Inc., the offerer [Mr. Molson] is currently considering his options regarding his holdings in the company including potential acquisitions of additional shares, either alone or with others."

Sectors: Beer & cider

Companies: Molson Coors
