Heineken is closing in on an acquisition in Russia, according to local press reports.

The business daily Vedomosti has reported that the Dutch brewer is close to buying the mid-sized Patra, from industrial holding Alfa Group.

Ekaterinburg-based Patra would be Heineken's fourth brewery in Russia. It has a total capacity of 1.3 million hectalitres and controls about 0.6 percent of the Russian beer market, according to brokerage UralSib.
