Dutch brewery Heineken NV plans to increase its share of the Russian beer market to 4 percent by 2005, the Russian press quoted a senior company official as saying Thursday.

The recent purchase of St Petersburg brewey Bravo is apparently only the first step in expanding the Dutch company's business in Russia.

This year, Heineken plans to increase Bravo's beer output by 60% to 4m hectolitres. Bravo has a 17% market share in St. Petersburg and 7% market share in Moscow.
