Heineken has nominated the financial head of outdoor advertising firm JC Decaux as its next CFO.

Laurence Debroux will replace the departing René Hooft Graafland on 24 April next year, on condition of shareholder approval. Debroux, 45, has led JC Decaux's finance team since July 2010 and previously spent 14 years with global healthcare company Sanofi.

The French national is expected to join Heineken on 1 March and will work alongside Hooft Graafland until his departure.

Heineken yesterday thanked Hooft Graafland for his 34 years of service and said he had “mutually agreed” with the board to “transition to the next generation of leadership”. He will leave the company when his current four-year contract expires on 23 April, a spokesperson told just-drinks.

“As a close colleague for nearly 30 years and my executive board partner for 13 years, I want to thank René personally for his support and for the value he has added to our business,” Heineken CEO Jean-François van Boxmeer said.

In year-to-date results posted last month, Heineken saw sales suffer from a slow third quarter.
