UK marketing and distribution firm charteredbrands has extended its partnership with US distiller Heaven Hills with the launch of a pomegranate liqueur in the UK.

charteredbrands is set to unveil PAMA, the "world's first true pomegranate liqueur", the company said yesterday (21 June). The brand made its debut late last year in selected cities in the US.

The liqueur will join a second Heaven Hill liqueur, HPNOTIQ, in the charteredbrands stable. The UK group won the distribution rights for HPNOTIQ in April.

"PAMA's pomegranate properties make it a natural fit, following on from our successful role in growing the Pomegreat brand to become the fastest growing juice drink in the UK," said charteredbrands MD Gervase Cottam.

Charteredbrands has also entered the wellness drinks category with the launch of Vitsmart, a range of vitamin-enhanced waters. The range includes three flavours - citrus flavours, passion fruit and orange and forest fruits.

The company has also expanded its marketing team to handle the two launches. Jo-Anne Halliday joins from Jim Beam Brands, the forerunner to Beam Global Spirits & Wine, while Katrina McKenzie joins from Whyte & Mackay.
