Australian winemakers describe the 2002 vintage now in its later stages as five star for quality but one star for volume, according to the Winemakers Federation of Australia. WFA chief executive Ian Sutton said a Federation survey indicated a total crush of about 1.42m tonnes, down 5% on the earlier official forecast of 1.51m.
