Halewood Wines & Spirits has announced its Crabbie's alcoholic ginger beer will partner Welsh rugby as it looks to strengthen the brand's ties with the sport.

Crabbie's will partner five rugby stadiums across Wales

The sponsorship deal, which sees Crabbie's become the Official Ginger Beer of Welsh rugby, runs between the Ospreys, Scarlets, Cardiff Blues, Newport Gwent Dragons and the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). The agreement gives Crabbie's exclusive pouring during rugby matches at five stadiums across Wales, as well as marketing and hospitality rights.

The partnership follows a similar commitment with Scottish Rugby Union, signed earlier this year.

"Crabbie's is a passionate supporter of rugby at all levels and wants to help grow the game through our long-term involvement," said John Bradbury, MD at Halewood Wines and Spirits. "With so many high profile matches coming up this season at club and international level, it promises to be an exciting first year together for Crabbie's and Welsh rugby."

Financial details of the sponsorship were not disclosed.
