Campari is on the hunt for a new MD for its US unit

Gruppo Campari has confirmed that the head of its US division has left the company.

Roy Danis, who joined Campari America as MD in December 2012, is understood to have moved on from the group last month. In a statement, the company said: “We can confirm that Roy Danis is no longer managing director of Campari America.”

No reason was given for Danis' departure.

“Campari managing director of North America Jean-Jacques Dubau will be leading Campari’s US business until a replacement is named," the statement added.

The role of MD of Campari America was newly-created when Danis joined the group from Jose Cuervo International. Prior to that, he worked for Aveniu Brands in the US.

In February this year, Campari announced a restructure of its US sales team

In the US, the company's nine-month sales were up slightly, by 0.4%, while the Americas unit as a whole saw sales slip by 6.2%.
