Gruppo Campari has declined to comment on a report linking it to a move for Marnier-Lapostolle's global distribution operations.

Citing a person "familiar with the process", Bloomberg has claimed today that Campari is poised to make a move for the group's distribution business. Any such sale would allow Marnier-Lapostolle to "streamline the company's sales and hasten its expansion", Bloomberg reported.

When contacted by just-drinks this morning, however, a spokesperson for Gruppo Campari said: "We do not comment on market rumours."

Back in 2014,  Bloomberg quoted unnamed sources as suggesting Marnier-Lapostolle was "exploring strategic options" for the business, including a possible sale. The source claimed the company could attract bids from private equity, as well as other drinks firms.

However, the Société des Produits Marnier Lapostolle, producer of Grand Marnier, said in a statement at the time that there were "no plans" to sell the company.
