Campari is looking to grow the brand in the US

Gruppo Campari has taken distribution of its Aperol brand in the US back in-house. 

The Italian group's US unit announced yesterday (21 November) that it severed ties with Palm Bay International in September. Palm Bay had handled the aperitif brand in the US since 2008. 

Roy Danis, Campari America's MD, said: “We are very pleased to have it back in our portfolio... we look forward to expanding this iconic Italian brand in the US market, promoting it through its signature cocktail - the Aperol Spritz.” 

In its nine-month results released last week, Campari said its US sales rose 3.7% organically. Aperol has registered “strong double-digit growth” in the US in the past year, Campari said.
