Dutch brewer Grolsch will launch a new, distinctive green bottle during the first quarter of the year.

The bottle will initially be launched domestically, with a roll-out to international markets in the coming months. The quirky green bottle will only replace the old premium lager bottles; the well-known swing-top is here to stay.

Ab Pasman, chairman of Grolsch's executive board said: "It gives consumers what they want; modernity and authenticity but with a touch of quirkiness."

The new bottle carries the embossed Grolsch logo and only a neck label. The flattened sides of the bottle make it easier to hold, the brewer said.
