A proposal from the Latvian government to ban the off-license sale of alcohol between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. passed the final parliamentary reading yesterday. The lwaa is an attempt by the authorities to target excessive alcohol consumption in youngsters as well as bring about a fall in general alcohol consumption in the country.
