Global Spirits has signed new distribution agreements in Kentucky and Colorado as it looks to widen its footprint in the US market.

The firm said last week that Heidelberg Distributing will handle Khortytsa Vodka and Odessa Brandy in the state of Kentucky. Meanwhile, Breakthru Beverage will distribute the same brands, as well as Leaf Organic Vodka, in Colorado.

"Leaf has already made significant headway in the market with distribution at Costco and other retail locations," said Jeremy Tostrup, Breakthru's VP of spirits. "Khortytsa gives us a strong value-priced brand of exceptional quality which rounds out our vodka portfolio."

The Ukrainian firm exports four vodkas under the Khortytsa brand to the US: Khortytsa Platinum, Khortytsa Ice and Khortytsa Honey Pepper - all US$9.99 per 75cl bottle - and Khortytsa De Luxe, with an SRP of $23.99 per 75cl bottle.

Leaf, which is made from waters sourced at different US locations, including Alaskan glacial water, carries an SRP of $18.99 per 75cl. The company's Odessa VSOP comes in 75cl and 10cl sizes, with SRPs of $10.99 and $1.99 respectively.

Global Spirits' brands are now available in 26 US states. In the IWSR's new top 100 list of global spirits brands by volume, Khortytsa was one of the biggest movers, up from 51st place to 33rd.
