The company said yesterday it wants rum, Tequila and whisky distillers to become part of the new Inspirit Portfolio, which will use Global Brands' existing distribution reach to expand sales. Inspirit was launched yesterday with a number of independent gin brands already signed up to the project, including Rock Rose Gin, Mistral Gin and Didsbury Gin.

Holy Grass Vodka and Bonanto Aperitivo are also onboard.

"The initial focus of the Inspirit Portfolio will be celebrating the growth and popularity of gin in the spirits industry," said Inspirit commercial manager Tim Garratt. "We are actively looking for like-minded brands, especially within rum, Tequila and whisky. With a range of British and European distilleries included in our portfolio, Inspirit offers a choice of styles each with a distinctive point of difference."

Inspirit will work with Global Brands' drinks network. Brands including VK are already stocked in major UK off-premise multiple grocery retailers, convenience stores, premium retailers and cash & carries.

The move into premium spirits targets growing demand in the category, Global Brands said. "The UK's demand for premium quality spirits and serves continues to rise," noted said company founder Steve Perez. "We want to ensure we remain at the forefront of these industry trends through the Inspirit team."
