Sipsmith is one of craft spirits' major success stories

UK-based gin producer Sipsmith has been linked to a sell-off.

Citing unspecified sources, Bloomberg reported late yesterday that the privately-owned company has recruited Rothschild & Co to advise on "talks with potential bidders". The report suggests that a buyer could emerge before the end of this year.

When contacted by just-drinks today, a spokesperson for Sipsmith declined to comment on Bloomberg's claims.

Operating out of a self-constructed distillery in London, Sipsmith was founded in 2009 and has since secured national listings in the UK. As well as its flagship London dry gin, the company also produces a vodka under the Sipsmith brand name.
