Kim Crawford Wines, the New Zealand-based winery, has launched a new wine targeted at the gay community in Australia.

The wine brand, called Pansy, was originally devised as a way to thank gay friends in the hospitality business, according to the company's Erica Crawford.

"Pansy is about friendship, kindness and generosity of the human spirit," Crawford was quoted saying in the Australian press.

A pink-hue in colour, Pansy will launch next week in Sydney.
