Italian wine firm Frescobaldi Group has switched distributors in the US market as it looks to broaden its footprint in the country.

The Tuscany-based company said earlier this week that it has divided its portfolio between Shaw-Ross International for the Frescobaldi and Danzante brands, while Vintus Wines will import Masseto, Ornellaia, Luce della Vite and Attems. The company's entire portfolio had previously been handled by Michael Mondavi-owned Folio Fine Wine Partners.

"We would like to thank Michael Mondavi and his ... team of fine wine professionals for bringing our company and our brands to this point in their development in the US market," said group president Lamberto Frescobaldi. "It is our desire to take our business to a new level of sales and distribution in the US by separating the brands."

The company's Travel Retail presence will continue to be handled by Slainte Wines, which is based in Florida.
