US start-up French American Brands has launched its first product in the country, a French sparkling rosé from the Loire region. Volage is a Crémant de Loire AOC produced at Domaine du Landreau in the Loire valley.

Targeted at female and Millennial consumers, Volage rolls out to the US in both the on- and the off-premise.

"We want Volage to become the go-to sparkling wine for young affluent Millennials, combining a high-quality sparkling wine in a stunning package for a reasonable price," said French American Brands founder François-Xavier Chaillou.

In early-December, the Champagne category was hit by a bottle recall, with 5m units affected at a bottle production plant operated by O-I France in Reims.
