Freixenet USA is launching a French wine on the US market.

The company confirmed yesterday (26 July) that Premius Bordeaux Clairet 2005 will be available nationally, at a retail price of US$10.

The Bordeaux-sourced dry rosé is the latest addition to Freixenet's Premius Bordeaux line, which includes a Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon blend and a Sauvignon Blanc.

Made from a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon , Premius Clairet 2005 is made with grapes primarily grown in the Entre-deux-Mers region in Bordeaux.

"The interest in rosé wines in the US market has dramatically increased, driven by an ever-savvier consumer who demands fresh, affordable, food-friendly wines," said Freixenet's VP of marketing, David Brown.

"Freixenet is in the position to supply the wines the market most wants, and we are working to meet that demand through our wine estates around the world."
