Foster's Group has promoted its former finance director for Australia, Asia and Pacific to the role of chief financial officer.

The company said today (30 January) that Angus McKay, who has also worked for Diageo, will succeed Pete Scott, who announced his intention to retire in August last year.

McKay joined Foster's four years ago and has previously held the positions of vice president at Foster's Corporate and finance director at Carlton & United Beverages, the company said.

Foster's CEO Trevor O'Hoy said: "I am delighted to promote Angus to the role of CFO and welcome him to the Foster's executive leadership team. His broad financial experience, international drinks industry expertise and intimate knowledge of Foster's business make him an outstanding appointment. Angus has shown a passion for this business and our industry, and demonstrated the leadership necessary to excel in the CFO role."

McKay added: "After four years in the Australian and Asia Pacific business, I'm looking forward to the expanded scope of the CFO role."

In his new role, McKay will be based at Foster's head office in Melbourne, Australia.
