Foster's Group has extended the sponsorship arrangement for its Australian wine brand Wolf Blass with international rugby in England.

The company said today (19 January) that Wolf Blass' position as the official wine of England Rugby and the official wine supplier to the Rugby Football Union (RFU) will continue through to the Six Nations tournament in 2010. The brand began its sponsorship with the Autumn internationals in 2006.

The agreement includes perimeter signage at Twickenham and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Wolf Blass is also the recommended wine on all RFU wine lists, including various hospitality packages, executive boxes and at bars around the stadia.

In addition, match ticket holders will be able to sample and purchase the wines from a dedicated Wolf Blass bar situated at the entrance to Twickenham. Wines available will be the Wolf Blass Green Label Chardonnay and Cabernet Shiraz, packaged in PET.

In the UK on-trade, Wolf Blass will run promotions in selected pubs and bars throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, whereby customers can win tickets to Six Nations games. Meanwhile, in the off-trade, the brand will be the subject of a consumer promotion with Waitrose. Running online at Waitrosewine.com until 25 February, consumers can win tickets to the England v France game on 15 March at Twickenham. The competition will be promoted through an email to 100,000 customers and a link with the RFU website and magazine.
