Foley Family Wines has agreed an exclusive deal to handle Italian producer Piccini Wines' portfolio in the US.

Under the deal, announced today, the California-based firm will market and distribute Picinni's range of wines across the country. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

It is not immediately clear if Piccini's wines were previously in the US, but Mario Piccini, MD of the Tuscany-based producer, said: “Our partnership with Foley Family Wines shows our desire to significantly increase focus on the United States.”

Family-owned Piccini Wines produces wines from fives estates, totalling around 1,000 acres of vineyards across Italy. The company, established in 1882, is known for its Chianti Orange Label brand and Memoro range.

Last April, Foley Family Wines made its first purchase in the US state of Oregon, acquiring The Four Graces Winery and Vineyard. In June, it also acquired New Zealand gin brand Lighthouse
