Laurent-Perrier has confirmed a change of personnel on its supervisory board, with former Danone executive Philippe-Loïc Jacob joining the Champagne house.

Jacob, 55, stepped in to replace Bernard Rascle on the board following the group's AGM yesterday. A former product manager for Carlsberg's Kronenbourg division in France, Jacob spent about 18 years with Danone, including a stint in Argentina as president of the group's bottled water operations.

He left Danone in mid-2009, having risen to the position of general secretary.

In today's statement, Laurent-Perrier thanks Rascle for his "contribution during his term of office as a member of the supervisory board".

Earlier this year, the publicly-listed Champagne producer reported a 3.4% decline in sales from the 12 months to the end of March. "Against the backdrop of a year-end marked by the COVID-19 health crisis, a declining Champagne market and ongoing uncertainties linked notably to the French and UK markets (Brexit), the Laurent-Perrier group has delivered a solid performance," said group chair Stéphane Dalyac.
