Hall & Woodhouse has updated the full Badger Beer range

UK brewer Hall & Woodhouse has rebranded its Badger Beer range in a GBP1.25m (US$1.7m) move designed to appeal to a broader range of consumers.

The changes, announced late last week, include a new logo and packaging, plus new marketing across digital, social and print. Also included in the investment is on- and off-premise activity and a new website.

Badger's Poacher's Choice beer has been renamed The Cranborne Poacher, while Blandford Flyer has reverted to its original name, Blandford Fly.

Two products have been reduced in strength, "in response to consumer drinking trends": Golden Champion from 5% to 4.5% abv, and Tangle Foot's cask variant from 5% to 4.7%.

"The marketplace has moved on at pace in the last few years," said Hall & Woodhouse MD Anthony Woodhouse. "It was time to update our brand, making it more contemporary and relevant to the evolving beer consumer."

The full range comprises The Legendary Tangle Foot, Fursty Ferret, Golden Champion, Hopping Hare, The Cranborne Poacher and The Blandford Fly.
