Emperador has lined up the roll-out of a limited number of a high-end iteration of The Dalmore single malt Scotch whisky to the US off-premise.

The 25-year-old extension of the brand had previously been available only in the country's high-end on-premise. Emperador confirmed today, however, that 1,000 units will be released nation-wide to retailers this month.

A total of 1,000 75cl bottles will be available, each carrying an SRP of US$1,300.

The liquid has been aged initially in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks before being divided into hand-sourced 25-year-old sweet Palomino Fino Sherry butts and 1980 first-fill Bourbon casks.

With an abv of 42%, The Dalmore 25 made its first appearance at the TFWA Travel Retail exhibition in Cannes four years ago.

Today's news comes a fortnight after the company unveiled a 750-unit, 40-year-old version of The Dalmore.
