The brewing force, Efes-Ukraine, has announced plans to increase beer production in Ukraine by more than 150% this year.

Last year, the company brewed 6m litres of beer, according to the trade association, Ukrpivo. Efes-Ukraine's marketing director, Viktor Chernetsky, said the boost in sales would be made possible by enhanced marketing and distribution.

The Efes Beverage Group, which owns nine breweries and five malt production units in Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Romania, formed Efes-Ukraine in 2000.
